SwimLabs is the brainchild of two local businessmen with lengthy ties to the Colorado swimming community, Mike Mann and Giff Cutler. Between them, Mann and Cutler have been swimming and coaching competitively for nearly 60 years. And make no mistake; by swimming competitively we’re not talking about a couple of has-beens showing up at a meet here and there. Instead, Mike Mann, for example, is a 3-time FINA World Masters Champion (2006), a 7-time National Masters swim champion and the current holder of a number of US Masters swim records. Both Mann and Cutler started swimming competitively as youngsters, Mann in Littleton and Cutler in Texas where he was a High School All American.
As coaches, both Mann and Cutler recognize that proper technique is the single most important key to becoming a good swimmer. From that knowledge SwimLabs was born – a swimming instruction facility dedicated to perfecting technique. In essence, the philosophy is really quite simple: By focusing on and improving technique SwimLabs enables each swimmer to realize his or her full potential in the water. SwimLabs takes the subjective out of coaching; by relying on the latest in advanced video and computer technology to compare the swimmer’s individual stroke to that of the world’s best swimmers, SwimLabs enables each student to perfect his or her technique. As they say, the camera never lies. And the results will be evident on the watch.
